Teach for FYSY

Inspire. Guide. Make an Impact.

Thank you for your interest in teaching with First and Second Year Experience (FYSY)! Our courses are designed to support students as they transition to college life, explore their academic paths, and build connections that set them up for success. If you’re passionate about mentorship, student engagement, and academic excellence, we invite you to get involved.

Why Teach for FYSY?

  • Make a lasting impact by mentoring and guiding first-year students.
  • Engage with students beyond the classroom and shape their academic journey.
  • Contribute to a supportive, student-focused learning environment at Georgia Southern.

If you’re ready to inspire and empower the next generation of Eagles, we’d love to have you as part of our teaching team!

Courses You Can Teach

FYE 1220 – First-Year Seminar

FYE 1220 is an introductory course that helps first-year students develop critical thinking skills, navigate college life, and engage with the campus community. Most students take this course in their first semester unless they transfer with 30 or more credit hours.

CORE 2000 – Core Capstone

CORE 2000 is a one-hour required course designed for students in their second semester of college. This course helps students connect their core curriculum to career goals and extracurricular experiences, giving them the tools to see how their education shapes their future.

CWP 1000 – Conversations with Professors

CWP 1000 offers faculty the opportunity to engage with new students before classes begin. These sessions provide incoming students with insights on academic expectations, strategies for success, and faculty perspectives, ensuring a smooth and confident transition into college life.
